MAIITON, April 20. Easter was spent at the National Park by Miss N. Hutton. Mr tand Mrs A. Grade are visiting Rotorua. In Air G. Eranke’s woolshed, the residents or South Mukirikiri tendered a kitchen tea to Miss A. Nitsehke and Mr A. Stuart, jam*., in honour of their ai>proaching marriage. At the annual meeting of the Bonny Glen-South Makirikiri branch of the W.D.F.U. the balance-sheet showed a. sound financial condition. Mrs Gow was elected president in place of Mrs E. Guddop, who retired. Mrs Emerson was first and Mesdames Wilhelm and Stantiall were equal second in the points prizes for the competitions held during the year. Mr P. Holford, a single limn, aged about 21, was admitted to the Wanganui Hospital suffering from a fractured skull and ribs and a broken collar hone. The injuries were the result of a collision between a motor cycle, ridden by him, and a motor car, in the vicinity of the Hunterville Police Station. The death lias occurred of Mr John Joseph Foley, a well-known and highly respected citizen of Ma.rton, who was employed by the Marton Borough Council. He had been a resident of Marton for the past 24 years.
