EASTER RAILWAY TRAFFIC

DECREASE IN REVENUE. During the Easter holiday period, from April 12 to 19 inclusive, there were 607 tickets sold at the Feilding railway station, the revenue derived being £274 11s 4d. In 1937 the Easter period figures show that 677 tickets were purchased and the revenue amounted to £326 7s 6d. Explaining the decrease, ATr D. Finlay (stationmaster) said that this year many of the Easter passengers reserved their seats in March, the revenue being included in that month. The wet weather was also a contributing factor to the decrease.
