BADMINTON.

PALAIERSTON NORTH CLUB. The opening of the Palmerston North Badminton Club took place before a large gathering in the produce hall at the Showgrounds last evening. During the supper interval Dr. K. Dean welcomed those present and wished the Palmerston North players every success in the coming season. He reminded them that they would have to be ready to meet the Australian players who were coming over. The hall presented an animated scene, six courts being occupied.
