CHURCH AND STATE.
CATHOLICS IN GERMANY. Received April 22, 12.55 p.m. LONDON, April 21. The Daily Telegraph’s Berlin correspondent says: The Catholic Bishop of Berlin (Signor Preysing), has gone to Rome to join Archbishop Faulhaber. The whole question of the Catholic Church in Germany was thrashed out at the week-end. Only the most optimistic Catholics believe in a continuance of tho concordat with Austria, which was more favourable to the Church than the concordat with Germany.
