At the first meeting of the; kind held m the No. 1 Licensing Authority district carriers and 'other interested parties met at Ngaruawbia to-day in an effort to fix a .scale of carrying charges to apply ,v to thq whole of Raglan County, .. The Authority (Mr 12., J.' Phelan) gave the parties ah opportunity to settle the matter .between themselves at a conference .at, which lie was not present, but as no agreement could be reached the Authority will now fix 'd scale of charges. ’ • • Mr Phelan explained that the meeting was of great importance as the scale arrived at in the Raglan area would he used as a basis in framing the schedules in other districts.
