CRICKET IN TASMANIA.

MATCH A JOKE. HOBART, March 6. The Australians had an easy win against Tasmania. The second innings was declared with 240 lor three wickets. Brown 108 and Fingleton 109 batted soundly. Tasmania, in their second innings, made 81 (O’Reilly six for 16, White two for 14, FleetwoodSinitli two for 28). Australia won by 485 runs. Brown and Fingleton at one stage scored 70 runs off live overs. The cricket writer, H. L. Hendry, describes the Tasmanian matches as a joke and declares that the Board of Control would be better occupied allowing the Australians to go to England via America and give New Zealand cricketers a chance to try conclusions and thus do something for New Zealand cricket.
