GAS IN AERIAL WAR

LESS USE IN FUTURE. LONDON, Feb. 20. That gas bombs will not be employed to any great extent to intimidate civilian populations in aerial attacks on large cities in the future is tho opinion of Dr Philip Mitchiner, an honorary surgeon to the King. He expressed it in an article in the British Medical Journal. “The damage done by gas, in comparison with that of high-explosive or incendiary bombs, is negligible, and does not justify its carriage on longdistance raids,” Dr Mitchener wrote. Nevertheless he emphasised that it is necessary for doctors to have an elementary knowledge of the gases likely to be used in future.
