EGYPT’S DESIRE. Received March 4. 2.5 p.m. CAIRO, _ March,3. “We are sincerely desirous of developing cordial relations with our great ally and carrying out the Eng-lish-Egyptian Treaty in the most friendly spirit,” said Mahmoud Pasha, the Premier, at the opening of the election campaign. The Premier stated that the Government’s programme included the speedy modernisation and mechanisation of the Egyptian Army, improvement of the State finances, and justice for all classes. Mahmoud Pasha added that Egypt had the greatest interest in the Eng-lish-Ttalian talks. Cabinet was determined to preserve the Egyptian rights in the Suez Canal.
