BAN ON SPIRITUALISM.
OIL UR CM OF KNGUAND. LONDON, 'Feb. 17. The Archbishop of Canterbury, O r Cosmo I,nng, will issue shortly a report, of the Church of Kngland commission on spiritualism. According to the News-Chroncile tlm Church will launch u three-fold attack. Clergymen practising spiritualism will he severely disciplined, legal proceedings will lie instituted against mediums on the grounds of false pretences, and a campaign will he undertaken, with the co-operation of doctors,_ warning tlie public of (lie dangers of interfering with the unknown.
Bpiritualism is making rapid progress in Britain, and the Church has lost thousands of members. _ Many clergymen are avowed spiritualists. A member of the commission said: “We iielivo that attempts to eiuninunicatc with those in the other world are wrong and dangm-ons, and dishonouring to the dead. Kvon spiritualists admit that is is possible to come Wo believe that attempts to comdo harm.”
