SINGLES CHAMPIONSHIP. W 7 ON BY P. 0. SKOGLUND. The champion of champions singles competition conducted by the Manawatu Bowling Centre was held on Saturday on the Northern Club’s green. Representatives of 13 clubs took pa.rt aand the winner was P. O. Skoglund (Northern) who beat W. Howe (Foxton) in the final. The green was very keen, but a north-westerly breeze made playing conditions somewhat tricky. Results are as follow :—- First round.—P. O. Skoglund (Northern) won from Eketahuna by default; E. W. Child (Palmerston North) 16 v. P. H. Mules (Woodville) 15; W. Howe (Foxton) 20 v. R. H. Taylor (Pahiatua.) 16; C. Corbridge (Manawatu) 21 v. R. Allen (Terrace End) 10; A. E. Ramsay (Feilding) 19 v. W. Monks (Takaro) 11; A. D. Hamilton (Oroua) 21 v. H. S. Powell (Levin) 15. Second round.—Howe 25 v. Hamilton 11; Child 19 v. Corbridge 15; Ramsay 23 v. Hemmingsen (Shannon) 10; Skoglund 23 v. Britland (Dannevirke) 18. Ay-Semi-finals.—Howe 21 v. Child 13; Skoglund 25 V. Ra.msay 17. Final. —Skoglund 18 v. Howe 13. JUNIOR TITLE. The junior championship was decided on the Manawatu green. 11 clubs being represented. The winner was Bailey (Terrace End)’ who beat Nottle (Oroua) iri the. final. Details: First round. —Palmerston North 29 v. Hokowhitu 12: Northern 22 v. Foxton 19; Terrace End 19 v. Takaro 15; Dannevirke 20 v. Woodville 16. Five rinks from the Oroua Bowling Club were welcomed at the Takaro Club’s trreen on Saturday bv Mr E. H. Smith. Mr Hausmann replying on behalf of the Oroua Club.
