ONLY A HOAX?
KIDNAPPING OF BABY. SYDNEY, Feb. 25. The further investigations of detectives into the kidnapping of the I\-year-old baby Philip Powles, who was found yesterday, have taken an unexpected turn, involving the element of a hoax, which will probably result in no further proceedings. UNKNOWN MAN. SOUGHT BY POLICE. Received February 26. 11.30 a.m. SYDNEY. Feb. 26.. More than 15 minutes before Philip Powles vanished from his father’s <»ar arrangements were made by telephone by an unknown man to send the child to the school where he was found yesterday. The police are now making an intensive search for the man who put Philip on the bus which took lmn to school.
