MINISTER IMPRESSED.

PROGRESS IN AUSTRALIA. SYDNEY, Feb. 25. In a farewell message to the Commonwealth, Hon. W. E. Parry (Minister of Internal Affairs), who will sail by the Awatea to-morrow, said remarkable progress was manifest everywhere in Australia. Mr Parry said he was particularly interested in the dairying on the north coast of New South Wales, where there was soil which was a delight to the eye of a practical farmer in any country. The vastness of the continent and its potentialities had impressed him beyond measure. He was equally impressed with the bigness ol somo factories, showing to what good purpose Australia was developing her secondary industries and providing openings and opportunities for many thousands of craftsmen and apprentices, and building up the national income. Mr Parry added that he could not speak too highly of tlie courtesy and hospitality lie had received from the various Governments. Facilities had been given him to inspect and inquire into all phases and obtain information concerning Governmental activities and enterprises in !New South Wales and Queensland which would be most, helpful upon his return to New Zealand. Also he had greatly profited from conferences with State Premiers, members of Cabinet land departmental officers, revealing the wonderful kinship of sister Dominions which was bound to be of incalculable and permanent benefit.
