COMING-OF-AGE PARTY.

MISS JOAN NORTHEY HONOURED An enjoyable party was held at the home of Mr and Mrs G. Northey, ol Ferguson Street, on Thursday evening, to celebrate the coming-of-age of their daughter Joan. The time was spent with dancing on the lawn, nov-

elty games and competitions, winners of the latter being Misses Z. Duggan, and E. Christian, and Mr G. Nicholls.

Pride of place on the supper table was taken by the handsome birthday cake with its twenty-one candles. Miss Northey was presented with the traditional key by her father, the guests afterwards adding their autographs to it. The toast of the guest of honour was proposed by her grandfather, Mr C. F. Spooner, Mr D. .Kilgour replying on behalf of Miss Northey. Among the presents received by Miss Northey was a fur coat, from her mother and father, and a gold wristlet watch from her grandparents. Those present were: Mr and Mrs C. F. Spooner (grandparents), Mr and Mrs 13. Spooner, Mr and Mrs J. Spooner, Mr and Mrs J. Hepworth; Mrs A. Ferguson, Misses L. Ferguson. M. Hancox, E. Polglase, Z. Duggan, E. Christian and Messrs A. Fisher, G. Nicholls. A. Northey, It. Northey, D. Kilgour and D. Yoss.
