UNCONSCIOUS AND SINKING. TUCSON (Arizona), Feb. 25. General Pershing is unconscious and sinking. General John .Joseph Pershing was born in America in 1860. He was Com-mander-in-Chief of the American Expeditionary Force in the Great War, and became Chief of Staff in 1921. He retired in 1924.
