Mrs L. Seifert, senr., of Victoria Avenue, Palmerston North, has returned from a holiday spent in Hamilton.
Mrs R. S. Meech, of Palmerston North, is visiting Christchurch. Mrs Eva, of New Plymouth, has returned from Palmerston North.
Mrs F. Hammond, of Opunake, who has been visiting her daughter, Mrs K. B. Dawkins, of Palmerston North, has returned home.
Miss Nancy Hausmann, of Feilding, will leave on Monday for Dunedin, where she will take over the teaching connection of Miss Elvira Wycherley, the well-known ’cellist. Colonel J. H. Whyte and Mrs Whyte, of Rolleston Street, Palmerston North, have returned home after spending a holiday at Raumati Beach. Mrs Louis Seifert, junr., of Palmerston North, is the guest of her mother, Mrs 11. W. Pilcher, of Hataitai.
Mrs J. Caudwell, of Waitoa, has returned home from an extended holiday spent in Palmerston North.
Mrs G. A. Eliott, of Palmerston North, leaves New Zealand next Saturday on the first stage of her voyage to England. Miss M. Warren sails for England in March.
Miss H. M. Saunders, who is to succeed Miss P. Hindle as secretary of the Y.W.C.A. in Palmerston North, will arrive in Palmerston North on Monday morning from Hamilton, and will take over her duties immediately. Mrs Duckworth and Miss Diana Duckworth, , of Christchurch, who have been visiting the former’s sister, Mrs It. W. Priest, of Milverton Avenue, Palmerston North, left to-day for Pgkerua Bay before returning home. The first 1 boy born to the male line of Ear] Baldwin’s family arrived recently. The baby is the child of Lord Baldwin’s younger son, Hon. Windham Baldwin, whose taste is for business rather than for politics. He is a director of the Great Western Railway, with which his family was first associated 37 years ago. Lady Baldwin is naturally proud of the first “baby Baldwin” among her nine grandchildren. . The other eight, six of whom are boys, ft re I the children of her daughters. Lady I Diana Ivemp-Welch, Lady Leonora Howard and Lady Margaret Hunting-ton-Whiteley. Lord Corvedale, heir to Lord Baldwin, is a bachelor. Mrs Windham Baldwin, before her marriage in August, 1936, was Miss Elspeth Tomes, of Lossiemouth, youngest daughter of the late Mr Tonies, a New York banker.
