ITALIAN NOMINEE.
PATRIARCH EXCOMMUNICATED. . CAIRO, Dec. 20. The Holy Synod of the -Egyptian Coptic Church has excommunicated Amba Abraham, "whom the Italians recently nominated as Patriarch of Abyssinia. A cablegram received from Rome on December 2 stated that the Coptic Church of Abyssinia had been detached from the influence of the Patriarch at Alexandria and included in the sphere of Italian activities. An Italian nominee would supersede the Abuna Cyril, the Abyssinian Primate.
