SPEEDING-UP WORK.

SOVIET INDUSTRIAL PLAN. LONDON, Dec. 1. Russian workers will be expected to speed up in 1938, but they will be paid more. The Soviet industrial plan for the coming year grants all industrial workers an increase cf 10 per cent, in wages, but there is a proviso that individual output must be increased by 13 per cent. Heavy industry must increase its output by 14.4 per cent. The production of consumers’ goods, as distinct from production for the State, will be raised by 6 per cent.
