LIFE SPARED.
ARAB FISHERMAN. JERUSALEM, Dec. 20. The death sentence passed on an Arab fisherman, who was due to be hanged at dawn to-morrow, has been commuted to life imprisonment on the ground that the remoteness of his residence and his calling possibly caused him to be unaware of the existence of the death penalty for carrying arms.
