CALF CLUBS.

EKETAHUNA GROUP JUDGING. The annual calf-rearing judging in the Eketahuna group of the Tararua Boys and Girls’ Agricultural Club took place at the Eketahuna Domain. The Alayor (Mr AV. Simpson) complimented the children on their interest. Entries totalled about- 41 calves and five yearlings. Air Bryant (judge) said that each year the judging became more difficult owing to the improving quality of the calves, which was most marked. The champion of champions contest between the Pahiatua and Eketahuna groups was won by James Ridder, of Konini. Air G. Brown, chairman of the Pahiatua group, commented that the calves that day were the best he had seen in the district. Airs Bryant decorated the winning calves with the ribbons and Air Goggin then presented the trophies and prize-money. The following were the cup winners : Goggin Cup.—Bob Payne, Rongokokako.
