BRITAIN AND AZORES. (British Official Wireless.; RUGBY, Dec. 13. Replying to a question in the House of Commons as to whether he was aware of the statement published in the Government-controlled Italian Press that Britain intended to annex the Azores Islands, now Portuguese territory, the Foreign Secretary, Mr Eden, said: , "i am aware of the publication of the statement but I am confident it will be everywhere appreciated tnat. no significance need be attached to statements of this nature, Decause they are entirely devoid of foundation. Jn my view publications of this kind only do harm to the people who make them.”
