WEDDING.

ALPE—PARKER. At St. John’s Anglican Church, Feilding,, on December 4, the marriage took place of Mrs Edith ' Ellen Parker, of Petone, and formerly of London, to William John Alpe, of Feilding, the ceremony being performed by Ven. Archdeacon F. H. Petrie. ■ ~

Escorted by her son, the bride wore a fully flared French model frock of Inca brown stiffened net, brocaded with silk braid and trimmed with ruched chenille and hat to tone. She carried a beautiful bouquet of matching flowers. The bride was attended by Mrs Arthur Parker, junr., who wore a fully flared satin romaine frock combined with lace, her beige hat and bouquet completing a pretty toilette. Mrs Somerville, who’was also in attendance on the bride, wore a black silk lace frock inset with georgette, and georgette coat trimmed with white fur cuffs. She carried a bouquet to tone.

The bridegroom was attended by Mr Colin McKenzie.

As the bride was leaving the church she was presented with a silver horseshoe by her grandson, Thomas Parker. Later a reception was held, the tables being beautifully decorated with roses and sweet William, a posy being placed at each guest’s plate. The bridegroom’s present to the bride was a substantial cheque, and the bride gave the groom an initialled signet ring. The attendants received beautiful black calfskin handbags. The toast of the King was proposed by Mr McKenzie, that of the bride and bridegroom by Mr Bradley (bride’s cousin) and absent friends by Mr A. Parker. Later the bride and bridegroom left by car for a" short honeymoon rtip to the north, the bride travelling in black and white suit with accessories fo tone.

The future home of Mr and Mrs Alpe will be in Feilding.
