ANNUAL PICNIC.
COSMOPOLITAN CLUB. Organised on the most efficient lines, the annual picnic of the Cosmopolitan Club was held at Ashhnrst during the week-end and, with weather conditions favourable, proved to be a. very enjoyable outing for all who participated, splendid hospitality being shown to visitors. Orchestral music was played by Gedson’s Aces; and Mr S. Toon Wd community singing. Lolly scrambles, sports and chasing the greasy pig added to the attractions. The j>icnic was under the general supervision of the president (Mr M. A. Moody), with Mr L. Plirrtmer as secretary. Assisting these officials were Messrs L. Eggieton (official handicapper), E. K. Fleming, J. Boyce, L. Anderson, H. R. Green, E. Collins, S. Lanksh'ear and H. Howes (club manager). Results of the sports were as follow -. —Girls’ race (4 to 5 years) : Beverly O’Brien 1, Lynetta Moser 2, Barbara Milne 3. Boys (12 to 13 rears): George Perrigo 1, John Mackay 2; Bruce Sutherland 3.
