MARATHON RUNNER.

NEW SOUTH WALES CHAMPION,

Received November 22, 8.5' a.m. SYDNEY, Nov. 21. J. Wood won the New South Wales marathon championship, of 26 miles 385 yards, in 2Jir. 58niin. The race was arranged as an Empire Games test and Wood is practically certain of selection. Wood was born at Christchurch and could represent New Zealand if he chose but has elected to compote for Australia.
