RANGITIKEI.
MARTON, Nov. 20. The Marton Amateur and Athletic Club met last evening when it was resolved to open the season at a date considerably earlier than on previous seasons. The Levin Chib advised that they were unable to arrange a meeting at Levin before Christmas. Owing to transport difficulties the Hawera Club will not visit Marton this year. The delegate appointed to the Cycling Union meeting is Mr W. G. Aitken. Application is to he made to hold a carnival at Marton. Messrs R. Bland and I. Ross were appointed senior and junior cycling coaches respectively. The following officials were appointed lor the coming season: —Programme committee, Messrs C. C. McDonald, C. Henderson and A. M. Smart; supeivisor, Mr C. O. McDonald; referee, Mr H. Shields; judges, cycling, Messrs L. Mcßeth, C. C. McDonald, M. Atkinson- running, Messrs G. Thomson, b. Wood, F. Harper; starter, Mr C. Henderson; check starters, Messrs N. Cairncross, G. Griffin, R. Bland, E. Wright; track steward, Mr W. G. Aitken in charge; call stewards, Messrs H. Rayner and L. Chainey; timekeep-> ers, Messrs D. Thomson and E. C. Haddock; lap stewards, Mr A. M. Smart; lady chaperon, Mrs R. Bland; result steward, Mr K. Atkinson; announcer, Mr C. N. Spencer.
