Received October 20. 11.15 a.m. LONDON, Oct. 19. Mr Vernon Bartlett, in an article in the News-Chronicle, says: “Intensely working for the foundation of an African Empire 300 propagandists are preparing documents in 28 African languages and are making the most intense use of the radio in Abyssinia concurrently with cultural propaganda. Military training in the world’s greatest Moslem university is planned and it is hoped to have a native army of three million within five years,' with three hundred thousand on the active list. A company with a capital of a hundred million lire—sl per cent Italian and 49 per cent German—-has been formed to exploit Abvssinia’s iron, coal, copper, and zinc. Preparations are being made to tap the timber and water power.” i i ;
