BY PRIVY COUNCIL. LONDON, Oct. 18. The Privy Council dismissed the New Zealand appeal, the Municipality of Mount Albert versus the Australasian Temperance and General Society.

EFFECT IN DOMINION,

Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Oct. 19,

The decision of the Privy Council in dismissing the appeal in reference to local bodies’ loans affects 23 local bodies in New Zealand, debentures having been issued to lending societies for £1,185,000 at varying rates of interest from 5i to 6} per cent. The Mt. Albert Borough Council ds concerned to land City Council of £99,000.
