BIRTHDAY PARTY.
MISS COOKE HONOURED. Over eighty guests were present nt a coming-of-age party held in the Odd-j fellows’ Hall, Feilding, on Monday evening, arranged by Mr and Mrs Ji. E. Cooke, of Kawa Kawa Road, on the occasion of their daughter Gwen s 21st biithday. Among the guests were visitors from Palmerston North, Linton, Fitzherbert East, and Foxton. The guests were welcomed by Mrs Cooke and Miss Cooke, the former, wearing a navy blue matalasse frock relieved with beige and the latter frocked in a gown of Windsor blue clot]ue, with silver accessories. The evening was spent in dancing and competitions, the winners of the | latter being: Miss F. Robinson (redhot poker), Miss G. Cooke (musical aims), Mrs L. D. Legge (parcel), Mr and Mr and Mrs J. Pitman (Monte Carlo), Miss B. Dungey and Mr B. Cumings (Lucky Spot). Supper was served after which Mr T. L. Seddon congratulated Miss Cooke on reaching her majority and extended the best wishes of the company for her .future happiness. Miss' Cooke replied, and proposed a toast to the health of her parents. Mr Cooke handed his daughter a gold key which all present initialled.
Reference was made to the fact that Mr Roy Robinson’s 21st birthday coincided with that of Miss Cooke and congratulations w-ere extended to him by Mr G. Pitman. Musical honours were accorded the young people.
