INDOOR BOWLS.
MATCH WITH HUTT VALLEY. On Saturday evening s ix rinks representing the Hutt Valley Friendly Societies' Indoor Bowling Association visited Palmerston North and met tho local association. In welcoming the visitors, the president, Mr E. W. Drake, stated that the anticipated pleasure of meeting the Hutt Valley members this season had become real, and that he hoped that, whether they won or lost, the visitors wpuld return home satisfied that the trip had been worth while. Replying, Bro. L. Price (secretary) expressed thanks for the welcome received, as did also Bro. Williams, Grand President U.A.0.D., who stated that the game was assisting the Friendly Society movement. Play commenced at 6.30 p.m. and two games each of 14 heads were played, the home players being successful by ten games to two. Sppper was served, following wlucn Bro. Price congratulated the Palmerston North association on retaining the Palm-Well Cup, and expressed thanks to the president for including his association when donating tins trophy on the occasion of the recent viist to Wellington. Bro Price stated that, while not successful, his paita had had a most enjoyable game, and ho hoped that the match would become ai Miisicad honours were ac c ° r ded the home players. Bro. This performance was a very creditable one. The committee has decided to close the season late in October; Wednesday will be the last occasion members will have of playing. A rinks competition of two games has been arranged with trophies.
