SANTANDER BEING CLEANSED. Received August 28, 10.25 a.m. SANTANDER, Aug. 27. While the Black Arrow divisions, after accepting the surrender of eleven Basque battalions are steadily advancing along the coast to Sentona, accumulating additional prisoners, sanitary squads nil Santander are cleansing the filthy streets, flushing the drains, and burning the accumulated garbage to avert the threatened outbreak of fever. It is reported from Rome that the Italian Press names twelve Italian generals, in addition to subordinate commanders, assist iltig the rebels on the Santander front. A Madrid report states that Loyalist fighting ’planes drove off rebel bombers after bombing G'i.jon, killing and injuring several persons.
