IRREGULAR SCHEDULE. (From Our Own Correspondent.) FOXTON, Au g% 27. Speaking at a mooting of tlie Foxton Chamber of Commerce, Mr 11. D. Dawson lodged a protest against, the irregular running of the Palmerston Nortli-Foxton tram. lIS said it was scheduled to arrive in Foxton daily at 11 a.m., hut. it was arriving at nny time between that hour and 3 p.m. Mails were carried on the train and business people wore being put to considerable inconvenience.. On a recent occasion ho had been waiting for the train, ho said, and after a long delay had made inquiry from the stationmaster as to its whereabouts and was informed that it was waiting at Longburn for a truck of cattle. It had finally arrived about 2.30 p.m. It was decided to writo to the department and ask if the time table could not bo adhered to moro strictly in future.
