CANARY AND BUDGERIGAR CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING. Mr C. F. Wilkie presided over the annual meeting of the Palmerston North Canary and Budgerigar Club on Wednesday evening, when there was a fair attendance. The report recorded an increase in membership by ten to 73, making it one of the strongest in the Dominion. “F'lio financial statement discloses a small credit on the year’s working, but against this there are a few small outstanding June show accounts. Regarding the expenditure the executive realised that this would be muck heavier than usual, as this year the club dissolved its associaton with the Alanawatu Poultry Association and conducted its own shows, necessitating very heavy expenditure. A good deal of these expenses will not occur again. Tlie dub affiliated with the New Zealand F'ederalion of Cage Bird Clubs (Inc.), a move which has been well j us'd fled. Regarding the annual 6liow held ,n conjunction with the A. and P. Winter Show, the club could feel very proud at staging the largest cage bird show ever held in Palmerston North aifd the fourth largest in New Zealand. Over 500 birds of the highest standard wore benched. For this success credit is due to Mr Edmunds,, who worked tirelessly in arranging the show, the show manager, Mr Weston, the secretary, Mr Inkpen, assistant secretary, Mr Lovelock, and a willing land of helpers. The club can fed very proud at having offered such a list of cups, trophies and cash specials amounting to over £7O, which was the most attractive at any show in the North Island. To donors of trophies the dub expresses its appreciation, and to business firms and interested traders. thanks for their help. To the A. .and P. Association the club is grateful for the financial assistance. To Messrs Purton, Edmunds. T. Inkpen, Just and Saunders who judged at the table shows, the dub extends its thanks and appreciation.” , It was with regret that Mr W'illue had to report the passing of Mr A. V. Oliver and Mr A. E.
