IN SPANISH WATERS.
ADVICE TO SHIPPING. (British Official Wireless.) Received August 27, 11.45 a.m. RUGBY, Aug. 26. The Board of Trade notices containing tho advice to enable British ships trading in Spanish waters to be easily distinguished have been circulated to all ship owners. The Chamber of Shipping has distributed the notices, the principal recommendations of which are: “Always fly the Red Ensign and have the rational colours prominently painted on the ship. “Paint in the largest possible letters on the port and starboard sides the vessel’s name.
“Enter and leave Spanish Government ports only alter dawn or before dusk.” The advice has been issued in the hope that easy identification of British vessels will avoid further incidents.
WARSHIPS ESCAPE
FIVE LOYALIST VESSELS.
Received August 27, 12.20 p.m. HENDAYE, Aug. 26. The Government warships Diaz and Cdscar, also three submarines, are reported to have fled from Santander last night. Their destination is unknown.
