The weekly statement of assets and liabilities of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand a.s at the close of business on Monday, Julv 19. is an follows: — ' LIABILITIES. £ s d
£31,478,754 16 3 Proportion of reserve (No. 7 less No. 5) to notes arid other demand liabilities, 78.296 per cent., as compared with 77.476 per cent, on July 12. Sterling exchange has increased by £492,881 to a total of £20,589,828. Gold is unchanged at £2.801,791. Subsidiary coin amounts to £112,786, a decrease of £3194. Advances to the Slate dairy industry account total £4.704,920, a decrease of £123.681. Advances to the Slate for oilier •purposes remain unchanged at" £300,000. Investments stand at £2,906,450, an unchanged . amount. Other assets total £62.979, a decrease of £29,013. The note issue amounts to £12.580,642, showing a further deerca_so of £44,160. Demand liabilities to the State total £6,121,419, a decline of £329.012. The trading hanks’ reserve balances total £10,208.279. an increase of £596.058. Other demand liabilities at £965,392, show_ an increase of £97,138. Other liabilities at £103.022 arc higher by £16.969. The statement' balances at £31,475,754, aii increase of £336,993.
