THE STOCK MARKET.
TAIHAPE DAIRY SALE. The N.Z. Farmers’ Co-op. Distributing Co., Ltd., report a yarding of approximately 250 dairy cows at the special sale held at Taihape on Wednesday. The entry comprised the complete herds of various clients who were going out of dairying. Considering the high altitude of the country ort which all these cows were wintered, the majority came forward in excellent condition, and the big entry attracted a large number of outside buyers. Any cows showing good butlerfat records were keenly competed for, and the whole yarding was disposed of under the hammer as follows:
Account Mr C. Cleaver, his whole herd of 80 cows: Early August ealvers, up to £lO 10s; medium sorts, £7 10s to £8 10s; late ealvers, £4 to £6; heifers. £6 15s lo £7. Account Mr D.. N. Collins: August culvers, £9 to £11; ‘September, £5 5s to £B. Account Mr A. W. Bieknell : Best cows, tip to £9; medium, £6 109 to £7 15s; late ealvers, £4 10s to £5 10s; cows in profit, £5 to £7 15s. Account Mrs B. Thurston: Best cows, £6 10s lo £7 10s: medium. £4 10s to £6; late ealvers, £3 10s to £4. Account Mr T. E. Platt, mostly late ealvers. Best. £4 to £4 10s; medium sorts to £3 ss. Account Mr W. A. Picard: £4 to £5 3s; aged sorts, £2 15s to £3 14s. Account Mr A. O. Addie: Best cows, £7 10s; heifers, £4 15s to £5 ss. Account Mrs I. M. Coleman: Best heifers, £5 7s 6d to £6; medium sorts to £3 10s. Account Mr 11. McDowall : 2yr. heiters to £5. Account other vendors: Late ealvers. £2 10s to £3 10s; unsound cows to £3; yearling heifers, 30s to £2 8s; Jersey bulb, £4 10s; store cows, 30s.
