MODEL ’PLANES.
GOOD PROGRESS. Further tests with petrol model aeroplanes recently proved very successful, L. Petersen’s machine making the outstanding flight The juniors have now passed the stage of building stick models and are now getting their hand in on body or fuselage construction. Propeller construction is also another job they are dbing well at, and even the youngest member has become quite proficient Club membership is on the increase and the clubroom is almost too small already. Senior boys have now received the schedule for the A. and P. Show competitions and are preparing for this event. It is expected that the new Lockheed machines will prove a popular entry. It is interesting to note that quite a number of boys who have started as model enthusiasts under Mr F. Carpenter, particularly at' Levin, are now members of the R.A.F. in England and Egypt, the R.A.A.F. and the N.Z.R.A.F. This should encourage boys who are keen.
