OPERATIC SOCIETY.
PLANS FOR “RIO RITA.” There were about 60 persons present at the rehearsal meeting of “Rio Rita,” which the Palmerston North Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society proposes to stage a few months hence, at the Jade tearooms last night. Judging by the enthusiastic response, “Rio. Rita” will be a great success* The musical director, Mr A. J. Graham, explained the various pieces which are included in the musical comedv. Unfortunately, however, the music had not arrived from Invercargill, but it will be available at the next meeting this week.. Mrs Mcßeath, of Levin, has been engaged as producer.
