By beating Wanganui Technical Old Boys on Saturday, Bulls Seniors won the Rugby championship of Wanganui under the “Moyo” scheme, having already won the premier honours of tho Rangitikci Sub-Union. Technical missed Welsh (who was in Wellington In connection with the trial matches), and throe forwards were also absentees,, juniors making up the team. Nevertheless, a. bright, open game was staged, and scoring see-sawed evenly until tho last half-hour, when the superior condition of tho Bulls players turned tho tide in their favour. Shewan opened tho scoring for the visitors by crossing after receiving a pass from Davidson, who . had run nearly 75 yards; McCormck missed the goal. Bulls backs then got busy, and from a passing rush Culpan got over in tho corner, Stock converting with a fine kick. Technical backs took a turn at attack, and Shewan again scored, McCormick goaling, but another try by Culpan, converted from the side-line by Stock, put Bulls again in front, 10 —8, at half-time. Culpan added another try, and James also crossed, no goals being added, and the Bulls score read 16 points. McCormick reduced the leeway with a penalty goal, but Potaka scored for Bulls, and Slock added a penalty goal, making the final tally: Bulls 22, Technical 0.8. 11. Mr R. Baker refereed.
