FEILDING BOWLING CLUB.

The following is the 41st report of the Feilding Bowling Club, to be presented at the. annual meeting: “The weather was not propitious for bowling and wo were prevented from having a very successful season. AVe desire to extend to the donors thanks for the donations to the funds; we also wish to express thanks for the yeoman service that has been given by Air Duncan in the care of the greens. AA’e wish to express our very great regret at the passing away of Air E. AVay, a keen bowler and beloved by all. AVe challenged the holders of the Dixon Cup twice, but were unsuccessful in both games. In the club competitions the champion singles were won by Air A. Ramsay. Messrs L. H. Rodgers, AVliite and Neilson (skip) won the president’s trophy. None of the other competitions was finalised. The Smithers Cup was won during the season by our club and Oroua, and the cup is now held by the latter club. In the New Year pairs tournament in the Manawatu Centre, Ramsay and AVenham (skip) were runners-up and were beaten by a Marton rink. In the Easter tournament Alessrs AA’ay, Edelsten, Ramsay and AA’enham (skip), reached the final, hut were beaten by a Foxton rink. AVe paid our annual visit to Wanganui Club and won by 7 9 points on the da-y’s play. AA’anganui visited us in March and owing to the green being very wet games were played only in tho afternoon; Feilding were again successful. Our club also visited AA’oodville, Levin, Terrace End, Palmerston North, Takaro, Dannevirke, Pahiatua and J'oxton and these outings, together with the games that we played with the Oroua Club, helped to make a pleasant season. AA’e had a fairly successful Gala Day and realised £2O. AVe desire to thank the ladies, whose efforts resulted in the raising of £50.”
