O NINE MONTHS’ EXPORT FIGURES.

Returns issued by the Meat Board covering exports for the nine months of the current season to June 30 show that lamb increased by 255,316 carcase®, but mutton was down by 226,966 carcases on the figures for the corresponding period of 1935-36. Shipments of chilled beef increased by 30,636 quarters to a total of 142,745 quarters, but frozen beof decreased by 50,810 quarters. Exports of pork increased by 18,373 carcases to a total of 482,923 carcases. _ The following table gives details of the shipments for the nine months ended June 30, tho totals for the corresponding period of last, season being shown for comparative purpascs:

In addition, 142,745 quarters of chilled beef for London and Southampton, as against 112,109 quarters, and 158.374 bags of boneless beef, as against 153,821 bags, were exported during the nine months. The Meat Board is advised that shipments from Australia, South America, and South Africa, to the United Kingdom, during the month of Juno, wore as follow : Australia.—lo 9,276 carcases mutton, 246.164 carcases lamb, 167,227 quarters beef (frozen), 37,157 quarters beef (chilled).

South America.—93.6Bo carcases mutton. 248.025 carcase® larnb. 2885 quarters beef (frozen), 469,430 quarter* beef (chilled). Included in the South American fienres are 113,895 carcases of lamb and 86,138 carcases of mutton shipped from Patagonia.

South Africa.—ll,433 quarters beef (chilled). The shipments from New Zealand to the United Kingdom for the same period were ns follow: —113,921 carcases mutton, 1,009,993 carcases lamb, 13.596 quarters beef (frozen), 12,894 quarters beof (chilled).
