AUCTIONEERS’, REPORTS. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report on their Feilding sale: A heavier entry of store hoggets was penned; 21 races of breeding ewes of reliable quality, (wo or three pens of store wethers, a full yarding of fat owes of prime quality, wilh a small entry of medium finished wethers and fat hoggcle. Competition was more active for all classes of store (sheep, with a brighter sale. Breeding ewes were in demand and sold firmly to a slight- improvement on last week. Hoggets looked brighter owing to tho period of dry weather, and for these there was active - competition, with a shade stronger price; ewe hoggeis particularly were inquired for. The main competition appeared to come from northern territories, ns the local feed conditions are holding back those who would like io buy, until there is some growth in the paddocks. Fat sheep showed little change in price. Some exceptional ewes wore penned, but considering the quality they tealised better prices than last week. A heavier yarding of run beef and a medium entry of dairy beef came to band. Run beef was inclined to be sorted over and did not meet with the competi-

tion. anticipated, but dairy licof sold firmly. Boner cows sold well to a slight easing in price. The dairy' pens were better filled, and wilh some attractive quality showing through. Taranaki buyers were present and competed freely for heifers and young cows, this section having a sound tone. Tim N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Go. Ltd., report: The store sheep section was again a centre of considerable interest and a steady enquiry absorbed an entry of breeding ewes nnd lambs in numbers equal to those of last week. There was not the bloom in the ewe entry, nor the same number of young sheep n.s was (ho case last week, but the market was relatively as good, in fact, in some cases it was a shado better. Buyers were presenl from Taranaki and the Waikato, nnd operated freely. In the store lamb section (be quality of both ewes and wethers was belter than usual and a very firm market prevailed. Ewe lambs took a sharp rise, the 35s mark being exceeded on several occasions during the day. Wether lambs improved by-about Is per head. A capacity entry was offered in the fat sheep section and the quality, particularly of ewes, was good. The market remained about on a par with last week. Fat nnd boner cattle were yarded in average numbers and values in both sections wero firm. A good sale is reported of dairy cattle, both cows and heifers of size and close to calving meeting witli keen competition. The entry of run cattlo was negligible.
