INDOOR BOWLS.
During the last few' weeks the Manawatu Indoor Bowls Association have been conducting a rinks championship.. The following are the teams participating, skips being mentioned first: J. Drury, W. Drake, G. Hansen, G. King, 3 wins 3 losses; M. Bailey, D. Andrews, C. Thorburn, D. Beattie, 4 wins, 1 loss; B. Fisher, R. Stewart, junr., G. Seales, Miss Underwood, 1 win, 4 losses; R. Stewart, T. Bird, Mrs Scales, G. Gill, 2 wins, 3 losses, 1 draw; G. Hancock, B. Farrar, Prisk, E. Persson, 3 losses, 1 draw; M. Bowler, Mrs Andrews, S. Richardson, A. Hunt, 1 win 4 losses; J. Tantrum, R. Scales, J. Manning, Mrs Hansen, 4 wins, 1 loss, 1 draw; ,T. Peter ana, B. King, Bragg, Mrs Drake, 2 wins, 1 loss, 1 draw; E. Burrell, A. Dawick, A. Freeman, Mrs Lanin, 4 wins, 1 loss, 1 draw; J. Cox, Wass, Gardiner, C. Purcell, 5 wins, 1 loss. A ve?y interesting game was witnessed when J. Cox played R. Stewart, Cox being defeated for the first time in the round by 19 points to 9. A special feature of the game was the accurate drawing’ of Stewart. 'lt was decided by the committee to \hold a tournament on the King’s Birthday holiday.
