ROUND TABLE CLUB.

AVlien members of tho Hound Table Club met in the Y.AV.C.A. rooms last evening, Miss C. AVarburton presided over a good attendance. “Current Events” were dealt with by Mr R. H. Billens, who dwelt particularly on -recent developments in Spain. Rev. J, S. Holland was the principal speaker for the evening, his subject being “The Church and the Community.” In the course of a most thoughtful address Mr Holland pointed out that the real purpose of the Church in a community was character building—reconciling man to double citizenship in and the next world, and combating that disintegrating force—selfishness. Appreciation of Mr Billens’s outline of European affairs was voiced by Miss F. Ross, ’and Miss P. Hindle conveyed thanks to Mr Holland.
