COUNTY COUNCILS.
CONFERENCE ON AMALGAMATION BILL.
Called at the instigation of the Manawatu County Council, a conference of delegates from all councils in the No. 9 Highways District to discuss the Local Bodies (Amalgamation t>eliemes) Bill was held in Palmerston North to-day. The meeting was not open to the Press. County councils represented were Horowhenua, Hutt, Makara Kairanga, Pohangina,, Iviwitea, Oroua and Manawatu.
