PAINFUL ACCIDENT.

FARMER LOSES FINGER

Mr T. J. Lind. senr., a farmer of Aorangi, met with a very painful: accident, yesterday afternoon. He was engaged in cutting firewood for a neighbour, with a circular saw, when a piece of wood which he was endeavouring to clear from the bench slipped and dragged his right hand on to the revolving saw. The forefinger and middle finger were fractured, while the next finger was so severely mutilated that it had to he removed last evening. An X-ray examination of the hand is to be made to-day. Mr Lind has had years of experience in the use of circular saws, and yesterday marked the first occasion on which he has met with an accident.
