LINTON
(Prom Our Own Correspondent.) LINTON, April 9. The Linton liiflo Club held a dance tor the opening of the season. The hall was I prettily decorated and a professional orchestra was engaged. Air O. Butchclar was Af.C. The novelty dances were won as follow: Alonte Carlo waltz, Aliss Norma Terry and partner; Gay Gordons. Aliss F. Heard and partner. Aliss Perry gave exhibition tap dances, while her sister gave two recitations, the items being very much enjoyed. At tlie annual meeting of the Linton Rifle Club the report, stated that the club had again passed through a very successful season. It had on differetnt oci casions been able to hold the llopcruft Shield, Collinson Shield (for five men aside), the City Cup (as winner of the central and southern sections), and to draw in the filial shoot with the Feilding Club for the Ai.AI.R.A. Cup. In the shoot-off, Linton v. AJoatoa, Linton secured a win with a good score of 806. However, when competing against Feilding a week later the same team, although supported by a fine double possible by R. Craw, were only able to draw in the final for the Ai.AI.R.A. Cup. “On the financial side the club is in a sound position. In the ladies section congratulations ( are to be extended to Airs G. Alerriman as the winner of the Collinson trophy. Airs R. Craw runner-up, and Aliss K. T erry as winner of Air Beckett’s trophy. The thanks of the club are due to all those who assisted with donations of trophies and monetary and other support.’’ The following officers were elected: Patron, Air G. Craw; president, Air A. W. Akers; vice-presidents, Messrs G. Rix, G. 11. Currin, and Jos. Batchelar; secretary, Air L. Wilson; treasurer Air F. Haley.
