AWAPUNI CUP.

PRESENTATION OF TROPHY. PLEASING INTERLUDE. The presentation of the Awapuni Cup, won by Sir Charles Clifford’s Wild Chase, was a very pleasing interlude at the Manawatu Racing Club’s meeting at Awapuni yesterday. The trainer, Mr H. Cutts, in the absence of the owner, received the trophy from Hon. M. Eagan, M.L.C., who congratulated the owner, trainer, and jockey (A. E. Ellis) upon the success of the horse. He also commented upon the beautiful appearance of the picturesque Awapuni course, with its wealth of blooms. Ho congratulated the Racing Club upon its work in this direction. Mrs C. Louisson, wife of the president of the club, then decorated the brilliant Paper Money colt with a beautiful blue riband inscribed “Awapuni Cup, 1937.” Cheers were then given for the horse, owner, trainer, and jockey.
