(From Our Own C'onospondont.) STANWA1 7 , April 8. The April meeting of the Women's Institute was held in the hall yesterday, Mrs Maeftirluno presiding. Visitors were welcomed, correspondence read and discussed and accounts passed for payment. Miss Guylee, of Waituna West, gave an interesting demonstration of Moral work,- and was accorded a vote of thanks. Mrs A. Marshall won a special prize for a competition for the best programme for each institute meeting. The competition for .tho best bloum in flic garden ; Mrs Winder 1, Mrs Whitehead 2: best plate of shortbread. Mrs Hamilton 1, Mrs Whitehead 2; host article from 501 b flour-bag, senior, Mrs I. Marshall 1, Mrs A. Green 2; junior, Miss V. Green 1, Miss .T, Hosser 2. Much merriment was caused by the rollcall, a good Scotch joke. Competitions for next month are; Spnngo sandwich with jam filling, and best paper hat, made at homo and worn by the maker. Afternoon tea was partaken of, the hostesses being accorded a vote of thanks. Mrs G. Green is the guest <>f her mother-in-law, Mrs A. Green. Mrs Molhack is visiting Miss N. Wore. “Orinsby,” Makara Hoad. Mr L. Dormer and Mr G. Green have joined a door stalking party at ngawcka.
