NOTES.
At the stock sale in Feilding. yesterday, an Aberdeen Aligns steer smashed through the gate of a pen in which it was accommodated, into a
race, where it smashed another gate and escaped. Drovers set off in hot pursuit and eventually brought the restless beast under control again.
The Feilding Ladies’ Golf Club opened its 1937 season on Thursday with a Cainadian foursome, the winners being Mrs T. Donaldson and Miss A. Shepherd. with a net score of Go. Although the Feilding Old Boys Football Club anticipated the services of Mr Nelson Ball in their senior ranks this season, it now transpires that Mr Ball will not be available. In conversation with Mr Ball this morning, he stated that his decision not to play football this year had been determined bv the fact that he is still suffering from an injury to his knee, and while it had been his intention earlier to play, lie had found that his leg would not permit him to train. He would, however, still act as a coach. The news of Mr Ball’s inability to play will be received with regret by members of the Feilding Old Boys Club, who were anticipating his inclusion in their senior fifteen. Eric Goldsack, of Aorangi. who suffered a cut on his chin and slight concussion as a result of an accident which occurred last week, when he was alighting from a motor bus, is reported to be making a good recovery.
