FRIENDLY SOCIETIES.

ACORN LODGE OF DRUIDS. The usual fortnightly meeting of Acorn Lodge teas hold on Easter Monday night at the Coronation Hall, Terrace End. A.D. Bro. Strong presided over a fair attendance of members. The District President (Bro. Buchanan) paid an official visit and was accorded Druidic honours. The District President thanked the lodge for the cordial welcome and hoped that friendship and co-operation would ensue during his term of office. Ho would always he willing to assist the Acorn Lodge with all his power to forward Druidical ideals and aspirations in his district. Various, brothers reported upon the activities oi different committees. A sub-commit-tee was set up to make arrangements for the entertaining of visitors and visiting lodges expected to be present on the occasion of the social evening to be held at the end of this month. P.A. Bro. Gulliver rendered an account of his visit as delegate fo the Druids’ conference recently held at Wellington, and he was thanked for his detailed report of the proceedings of the conference. Votes of thanks were passed to the visitors and the lodge closed. Games of cards concluded an informative and instructive evening.
