CLAY BIRD SHOOTING.
GUN CLUB’S EVENTS. The Palmerston North Gun Club held a shoot at the Eitzherbert grounds on Saturday when a number of possibles were recorded. The first match was the sixth round of the Luoni Cup competition, and the leading scorers were W. A. Thomson, FV Farmer and R. Maher, who each broke nine birds, and N. Hanson, who peppered seven. The next was a trophy shoot in which A. Barnard and R. Maher tied for first plaoe with 10 birds apiece. In tlie snoot-off Barnard broke five more birds and Maher broke four. Other good tallies were secured by IV. A. Thomson and I<\ Farmer, who each broke nine clays. A haudicaj> sweepstake was divided by IV.' A. Thomson and F. Farmer, with nine breaks each. Two Yankee shoots were next, the first being won by IV. A. Thomson with a possible of ten, and the second being divided by IV. A. Thomson and It. Maher, each getting the possible.
